University of Vienna

The University of Vienna is one of the oldest and largest universities in Europe: around 10,600 employees work at 20 faculties and centers, including around 7,500 academics. This makes the University of Vienna the largest research institution in Austria as well as the largest educational institution: around 84,600 national and international students are currently enrolled at the University of Vienna. With 186 degree programs, it offers the most diverse range of courses in the country. The University of Vienna is also an important institution for further education in Austria. Founded in 1365, the Alma Mater Rudolphina Vindobonensis celebrated its 650th anniversary in 2015 with a diverse annual program. In fall 2022, the University of Vienna congratulated Anton Zeilinger on winning the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics. In 2023, the University of Vienna improved significantly in all three of the most important university rankings (THE, QS, Shanghai) due to its international visibility.

Juridicum

The Juridicum is the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna. It is the oldest and largest law faculty in the German-speaking world. Law has been researched and taught here for over six centuries. Today, over 10,000 students are supervised by around 600 members of staff. Law is at home here - from the fundamentals of law to its application in daily practice, it is the subject of our research and teaching.

Institute for Labour Law and Social Law

The Institute is responsible for the subjects of Labour Law and Social Law as well as the interfaces between these subjects and related areas of law, in particular European law, medical law, data protection law, sports law and methods of alternative dispute resolution. For decades, it has also focused on legal and socio-political issues in selected Asian societies.

The organizers of the competition in Vienna

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Brameshuber is in charge of organizing the event in Vienna 2024 and works together with Dr. Felicia Kain, Veronica Schauer and Raphael Ertel to make the Moot Court a rewarding experience.
