Hotels near the University
The Hotel Zipser is located 10 minutes on foot from the university and with 3 Stars in the mid-price segment.
Hotel Graf Stadion is close to Hotel Zipser and is in the same category in stars and price.
The Hostel in the 7th district is only a few stops away by tram and is a great stay for a trip with a smaller budget.
Wombat's City Hotel Vienna Naschmarkt
The Hostel is next to the Naschmarkt, one of the sights in Vienna and the Institute is accessible within an few subway stations.
From the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) to the University
From the Central Train station you can use the Wiener Linien, which is the public transportation. The one-way ticket for this ride costs 2,40€ and you can buy it online, in an APP or at the train station.
At first take the Subway U1, direction Leopoldau. Leave the U1 at the Station Karlsplatz and change into the Tramway D (Nußdorf), 1 (Prater Hauptallee) or 71 (Schottentor U). From there it is a 5 minutes’ walk to the Juridicum and the Freshfields lawfirm.
You can take a Taxi as well, it takes around 10 minutes and costs about 15€ (depending on traffic).
From the Airport to the University
You can travel from the airport to the University (= city center) via public transportation, which takes about 40 minutes, or via Taxi which takes about 30 minutes (depending on traffic).
Public transport:
For the first option you have to take a train from the airport to the city center. There are two different train options.
- The slightly faster but more expensive one is the CAT train, the round trip costs 24,90€.
- The other one is the S7/REX7 from the ÖBB; it costs 8,80€ round trip.
- You will stop with both options at Wien-Mitte. There you have several possibilities:
- Either you change into the subway U4 – direction Heiligenstadt, exit at the stop Schottenring and enter the Subway U2 - direction Schottentor and exit at the same station. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the Juridicum and the Freshfields lawfirm.
- You change into the subway U3 – direction Ottakring, exit at the stop Herrengasse and walk to the Juridicum and to Freshfields (around nine - 15 minutes)
Taxi:
